Paxton is a GS mix who is approx. 9 mos. old. Mom was a German Shepherd, we don't know who dad was. Paxton was one of 3 dogs who came into the shelter as an owner surrender because the owner had too many dogs and they were being neglected. They were all backyard dogs who were given no socialization around people or other dogs. Paxton was very timid and unsure when first coming to the rescue but he is learning to trust people and other dogs. He will need slow introductions so he can feel comfortable. Paxton needs a happy go lucky helper dog in the home to build his confidence. This is a MUST for him to be adopted. He will need a patient adopter, one who can bring him farther along and show him that people can be kind and gentle with him. Paxton wants very much to have a family of his own to belong to and love.

PLEASE READ. Regarding the application processing fee: IDGSR requires that all applicants submit a $20 non-refundable application processing fee. Please note that submitting an application and fee does not guarantee that you will be approved or guarantee the adoption of any specific dog, since that dog may have other applications being considered.
Each dog's adoption fee varies depending on the age of the dog.
$300 for any dog 1 year and younger (PUPPY)
$250 for any dog 1-6 years (YOUNG & ADULT)
$200 for any dog 7 years (ADULT SENIOR)
All our adoptable dogs are up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing, monthly preventative, and have been spayed or neutered.
Everyone must submit an application before an appointment is made to meet the dogs. Dogs are introduced to prospective adopters BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
All dogs are fostered in TN unless stated otherwise.
